RAYDOG I agree with you 100 percent. I own a 20k reference system which started out 23 years ago with a anad 3140 dcm time windows and an nad turntable 1100 for the first sytem which now would be considered budget. I am currently playing with a Sony scd 775 349.00 player and put it in my reference rig. I am surprised at how good this el cheapo player sound no its not my Classe cdp .5 but it sounds great in my upstairs system. Who would ever have thought that I would buy another Sony product. I also have the dv 9000 es coming Monday to see how this sounds in contrast to the 775. I know one of these will end up staying. If the 9000 es sounds as good as my Classe on redbook it may find a home here and the Classe may replace the Marantz. If the 9000 es doesnt sound better on redbook than the Classe then the 775 will find a home replacing my Marantz 63. So I am confused why some people think its not high end if its cheap. The moral is listen and then make the conclusions.
