We send tons of money for foamed teflon insolated Ag ICs to transmit HFs to minimize artefacts & some Hoi Palloy manufactures decide that we didn't want to hear it anyway.It ranks right down there with al too oft attenauting the XO between drivers to preclude IMD resulting from different transient behaviors.
BTW, you're not missing much with McIntosh. They make a remarkable subwoofer amplifier ( enormous LF extension with tremendously tight f b control ), but the upper midrange is completely polluted with electronic refuge.
