The damping factor, theoretically would be the speaker's impedance divided by the output impedance of the amplifier. Since the speaker has high DC resistance (voice coil resistance) and the connecting cable and connection has a small amount, the true damping factor is not very high.
If you choose a speaker who's total Q is approx. .7 or a little less, the damping factor of the amplifier has less influence on the bass region. This is because the speaker is self damping. Hope this helps.
