What actually happens is that the naturally occuring vibrations in the CD cause subatomic particles from the paper to migrate into the magnets in the speaker and then into the cone itself. The particles, having picked up the vibrational identifiers from the CD, only produce the effect for that CD.You'll probably find that you only have the effect on one channel, unless you've repeated the process on both speakers. It only works on paper cones by the way. If your speaker cones aren't paper, stretch a condom across the magnet before stroking it with the CD for the same effect
