I don't see the point in spending tons on flat speakers/components, then using a SET amplifier that adds 2% distortion, even if it's the "good" kind. If the producer of the album wanted that kind of distortion, they'd add it themselves.
The point is in serving one's own pleasure. I don't listen to recorded music to please some producer. I listen to recorded music to please me. And if 2% added distortion gives me a more pleasurable listening experience, then I'll take the 2% added distortion ten times out of ten.
I don't see the point in serving someone else's pleasure above my own.
