I don't know what you were on when you listened to a Bozo cube system, but the sound is exactly as he describes. There is disembodied bass with the baritone portions of individual voices emerging from places like under end tables. And then part of the mid-range is missing and the upper portion of the voice comes from some other part of the room. It all sounds eerily disconnected and irritating to me. And I have never heard any music that sounds good through the cubes. And I do have extensive experience listening to the Cubes. I auditioned them at home against mid-sized ADS, and smaller Apogee, Coincident, Mission and Dunlavy speakers driven by a decent set of electronics. The Bozos with cubes were my girlfriend's - she owned them when I moved in six years ago. The more I heard them, the more I hated them. I finally was able to replace them with a good system using Apogee Centaurus Ribbon Monitors (see inmate systems) without insulting her, and we love listening to classical music together on the current system.
And now, (I'm sure the creator did this just to bug me), her daughter and son-in-law have 2 of the Bozo 4-cube systems - always running with the bass cranked up!

Listening to acoustic guitar through lots of tubes and a pair of Diatone P610MB's - EXTREMELY realistic sound.
