She might not be a common "nay sayer"--maybe she can't hear the difference--if amps are different--couldn't ears be different as well?
Someone said rainex could help cd's--it seemed easy enough, so I tried it--and it did help a cd that was damaged by a plastic bag (left in the sun)--it wouldn't play a song, and after the treatment, it did. The aluminum thing seems easy enough to try--but to avoid the placebo effect try a double blind comparison.
