RE: What am I really hearing?

As Mr. Ugly said, there are a bunch of online resources for this.

Here is one I've used over the years to track my progressive high-frequency rolloff due to age and an unregretful lifetime of enjoying loud, edgy music. Headphones work best and make it less irritating for innocent bystanders.
