If I want a solid-state amp, not 'hybrid', not 'switching', under 10K, what (U.S.) choices do I have?
A lot of options have already been mentioned. But here's a couple more that should meet your criteria:
Belles Audio (aka Power Modules)
BAT
Herron Audio
Resolution Audio
Merrill Audio has a new model coming that might be at the upper end of your price range. Perhaps Red Wine (Vinnie Rossi) too.
