It was a wide-view of the U.S. vs Europe/Japan. And the influx of foreign-born audio people (here). For a country our size, I was surprised how few produce audio equipment, esp. solid-state A/B amps. IF they produce, they seem to take the easy road -tubed equipment, updated from the 1930s (or 50s like OTLs). Or switching amps, which are easily-assembled modules from Europe.
I'm very glad to see Pass and Parasound. And McIntosh making (what appears to be) a great solid-state amp, just reviewed in Stereophile. Great looking too !
