General audio topics that don't fit into specific categories.

RE: Google it!

The problem is two fold. Number one, you are not consistent. You talk about high end rubbish but then claim your solid silver cables sound better but most people in your camp (double blind, stereophile bashing, high end audio is snake oil etc etc) would say how? What electrical properties of this solid core silver make it sound audibly different from an identically sized solid core copper cable? And if the type of conductor material in a speaker, interconnect or power cable has an audible effect than why would it follow that material changes in an AC outlet COULD NOT have an audible effect?

Number two are the sweeping generalizations where you dismiss all that you think must be nonsense, despite no empirical experience of your own. You mention DB tests but but never cite them so we can't see what you are talking about. There are very few DB tests that really pass muster due to frequent methodological and statistical issues.

Look, if you said that you are highly sceptical about some high end stuff and feel that at best the price of some of this stuff really outweighs the limited benefits then you would probably get some agreement. I think that if your system really needs a $250 outlet to sound great then your prone to exaggeration, any decent system should sound decent with a standard, correctly functioning AC outlet. But that does not mean that adding a better outlet could not change things (at least if silver wire can change sound). When you make sweeping generalizations, you are bound to get some things wrong.
