About a year ago I was telling people on the Audioreview forum
that their $999 amplifier (I think it was this one?) was misleading.
Odyssey Stratos (2 ch amp) made outrageous power output claims into 2
ohm loads when the same data sheet indicated that the transformer
they used was much less in power. I don't remember the exact
numbers but the general idea was.. example --> 100w into 4 ohms
200 into 2 ohms. Transformer is 300VA. This was the general idea,
how can you drive 200W into 2 ohms (400W total) if the transformer
is only 300VA (watts)? I made a few people angry and surprised
some others with this finding. Since then, the manufacturer stopped
advertising the power rating of their transformers - heheheh
