No, it's not bright or harsh at all. If anything, it is just slightly on the dark side of neutral. Don't get me wrong, its not a tube amp, it has a solid state sound, so don't expect "tube magic", but for a SS amp, it has a very accurate sound that just barely errs to the side of being pleasing, rather than analytical. I like it a lot, it's a really good match with the rest of my gear.
