No, I felt, and still feel, that the multiamp is a very good amp, especially if you are looking to actively bi-amp a pair of speakers, which it does very well and with exceptional ease (electronic crossovers being built in). If I were to tier the amps I've demo'd and owned, I would put the LeAmps, Acurus, Parasound, B&K, and Bryston amps at the bottom tier, the multiamps a step up from them, the Stereo Stratos w/cap upgrade and the 8008ST a step up from it, and the DM Stratos and Classe 200 a step up from that, and the Ayre V-5 at the top of the heap.
