I for one, wish there were more high end preamps with tone controls. I often try and compensate for my room's limitations (my high end setup is in our living room, where my wife insists on keeping furniture and objects where they are) by boosting the bass and treble just a bit, and amazingly, to me, my Magnepans DO sound better! My system sounds a bit flat without tone controls engaged. I don't seem to mind the slight boost at all. I'm all for tone controls.
