Innovation vs reliability

Yeah,

It could be something so simple as "working out the bugs." Sometimes when we "fix" something, we end up breaking something else. I've been in IT managment, and IT tech/repair for quite awhile. I used to work for a large PC game company and we were on the bleeding edge of new video card development to get the latest and greatest video technology for our games. It took a while for the cards to "settle down."

But, for my taste, some of the high end audio applications are centered around not using the latest technology, but finding more concise applications of the old: getting sh*it out of the way of the signal path. Or spending a lot of time and energy doing things like improving the power supply.

These types of applications may bring up problems as well, as once you start clearing away crap from the signal path, you may have issues like not having enough protection, or other issues...
