Andy, call me a doubting Thomas, but I'm skeptical of your story about the preamp being given away twice within a short time, especially by you since by your own admission you are not a "high-roller" and could have sold it easily for over $10K assuming it was in excellent condition. I know some of your friends who heard it, whom you believe were underwhelmed by it. Whatever, but it's an empty claim. That the thread kept you up all night is telling. Maybe you should listen to your conscience. The only thing that matters is that you enjoy music without the nagging feeling that money could have been spent more effectively for more listening satisfaction or invested.
