Your comments on the VR-9 were interesting. I've owned a lot of speakers in the last 15 years--some very pricey--and these were the first to literally give me shivers and bring tears to my eyes (FYI, happened first on the Grateful Dead's "Ripple"). I'm obviously biased, but I consider them one of the very best speakers in the world, if not THE best. They excel at everything and expose some similarly priced speakers (not naming names) as lame pretenders. In addition, I don't think the DarTZeels were the weak link. I have essentially the same system as the one they ran at HE2005, and I consider my two Darts one of the backbones of my system. I've never heard an amp that combined clarity, fluidity, and dynamics quite like it. It has a few weaknesses (e.g., hard time with VERY difficult loads), but they are overwhelmed by its strengths. Too bad they didn't make a strong impression on you. They sure did on me.
