A single amp for every driver is the answer , you can tailor the amp to the driver's characteristics and the amp works within a narrow range , you can use different amps for different drivers , solid state powerhouse for bass , valves for mids etc etc - this is of course you are doing it properly , like having a digital or analog line level variable crossover.
