--is pretty laborious to parse. The reader has to supply too much. By the time we figure out that there's this--( [ ] )--going on, "amateur" has quotes for no particular reason, he must mean "nationals" and what he's saying is "d. People who are knowledgeable but who are actually wrong in the conclusions they form or the recommendations they make" . . . we poor audiodweebs have forgotten the question. Life's too short.
And it did have, as David pointed out, at least an apparently self-contradictory nature.
