I have experiece with HT Powerbar 1000 (or 1100? ... seems that what its called now) and I use a HTS 2000 MKII.The Absolute Sound tipped me off as to the effectiveness of these inexpensive (at least by audiophile standards) products. I bought the 1000 from Future Shop (Canada). I was very pleased with the improvement in sound, returned it (they have a no question asked refund policy), and got the more outlets 2000-II (used from eBay).
I later tried one of the more expensive component style Monster LCs, a 3600 MK II, but felt it didn't improve upon the 2000-II, I wasn't even convinced it "as good" but mind you it was only a quick comparison.
I even plug my amplifier into the 2000-II and get no sense of the often reported resticted dynamics complaint (although an early generation Adcon ACE I once used *did* do so). If I felt there was a downside I'd plug the amplifier into the wall since I really could care less about the "protection" aspect, I do it for sound only.
Great bang for buck!
