Had some customers that ran double Advents off 2 Advent recievers. Used 1 receiver as such and connected the power amp from the other receiver to the amp in on the first unit. At the time we thought this was a little strange but after listening to a few setups in other than dormitory rooms we considered them serious high end competition for the fiscally prudent person. Generally, these persons opted for the AR tt with a Shure M95 for a laid back sound or an ADC for something a little more forward. For a step up from there we would add the little Micro-Acoustics tweeter to the Advents to extend the highs without having to go to the JansZen 130 electrostatics.
The systems most of the time were used by those who appreciated classical or jazz music.
