Crappy recordings; good music...

Recently I have taken a liking to some modern country, rock, and even a little pop. The overcompressed, tweaked up recordings from digital sources (no rocks thrown 75% of my collection is still cedee, not vinyl)just do not shine on my HIFI, as they do not on most.

I guess my question is: If you want to enjoy this music on a HIFI, yet tame it to being listenable, what do you do? I was going to find/build myself a pair of lower resoultion speakers more eq'ed for it...

The whole key here being I want to maintain my HIFI when I want to listen to Jazz/Blues/Classical and my Vinyl collection. I know... Best of all worlds is impossible. Definately wondering if anyone else has tackled this.
