Re: I'm curious, what was your first *true* stereo system?

My first stereo system (i.e., bought with my own money!) was a Technics direct-drive turntable with a Grado GTE+ (?) cartridge, a Technics integrated amp (60 WPC), and a pair of Infinity RS-2b (?) speakers. I've owned a lot of different gear since that first college system, and my current setup is a heck of a lot more expensive and probably sounds about 10 times better, but thinking of all the musical pleasure that simple system provided still makes me feel kind of wistful. Of course, I have also given up abusing the various psychoactive substances I was partial to at the time ;-)
