The TRIPP LITE metal unit works fine a s voltage 'regulator' (it is not even that) but it protects against dramatic current changes, (often in NYC) where Con Ed is immune from all claims and has some audible filtering-works well with amps but has too much filtering for other components. Major virtue is price at $325....I just do not want my 90 pound amps destroyed nothing more elegant than that. PS audio product is a superior product at 20x the price. I will take the cheaper alternative and spend my Hi Fi $ on other components. This component has a design that has worked for 25 years.
