Ayre was barely a blip on my radar a decade or so ago. I remember one of my audio friends who owned the Ayre V3. It was a nice enough compact 100wpc amp that sounded pretty good. But I was going gaga over Krell, ML, CJ, ARC back then.
My recent experience with the Ayre QB-9 DSD DAC and the modest AX-7e integrated put the brand smack in the middle of my radar.
