I look at it from another angle.
I have a hybrid Chinese / American system.
If I want something solely Chinese and High End I buy the High End Chinese made. There are some very good Chinese companies like Auralic, Yaqin, Dussun, etc... and Aune as examples. There are other Chinese companies on the level of MBL etc, but I can't afford them right now to get to check them out. China is a big country. They have a very diverse base of people with all kinds of resources from little resources to the astronomical.
If I want something of quality I buy from China, I make sure it is a Chinese company most of the time. I currently use Auralic and Yaqin and Aune equipment.
If I want USA made I try to make sure they employ people in the USA to build the equipment and have staff here. I have a few exceptions but that's my main reasoning for the most part. Made in USA has to be built here, where the parts come from well nowadays they come from all over yeah for most companies.
What I don't like is the companies who use China to do all the dirty work and then claim they are not really connected to their country. That's nonsense.
I am a big fan of high end Chinese equipment made by Chinese companies, I will support them. They have a great sense of pride in that, as do American companies. I don't like the companies that fake it, claiming they are British or whatever when all they do is have the Chinese workers do all the dirty work. Those tend to be the high end companies with no shame. And they don't get my respect.
