For example, I have a lot of respect for Stereophile, their writers and their editor. The articles tend to be balanced, insightful and based on experience. They're not always a glowing recommendation either, but more an honest appraisal.
Many years ago I also subscribed to The Absolute Sound - before they lost their way.
I find that over time you find that certain reviewers of music, movies or anything else can have similar tastes - meaning that their thoughts are more likely to coincide with yours. Those are the reviewers that I return to, as I've learned that there is a better chance we will agree.
For movie reviews, it's Peter Howell of the Toronto Star. I have never disagreed with his opinion, and will always read his thoughts before heading to the theatre.
