I was on vacation last week and enjoyed my system thoroughly, as well as a few days this week.
after about a 100 hours I find I'm very happy. Comparing to my hot rod VPI Super Scout Master I notice that Digital is missing something. Its not much, but it is noticeable. I would use the analogy of a Robot compared to a person. The Robot can do the jobe faithfully, completely and without fuss. Where as the person has a soul.
My vinyl gives more emotion....
My Digital is crystal clear, with blacker background and bass that I can feel and not hear.
I love both and would never give up my TT's, I have three. The VPI in the main system, a Rega RP8 in the Manley Cave and a Thorens TD160 in the bedroom. Their is something nostalgic about all three. The sound reproduction on all three are different and outstanding on each of their abilities.
I will keep playing around with Digital. The DacMagic 100 was a no brainer at $200. I'm going to research and find a step up and then move that to my Manley cave system.
PS: I drive a Manual (2015 Mustang GT Anniversary edition) with about another 40hp of customization. I will keep it forever and eventually leave this car to my son.
I have been driving manuals for 40 years. I only had two automatics in that time.
