Manual shifting does not take any of my attention away from driving. It happens automatically in the brain I don't have to think about it at all. Dual-clutch? Yep that does take brain power I have to think about it. Don't care for it. Don't care for the flippy paddles.

I am not referring to modern recordings I am talking about older recordings. There is plenty of stuff from the 50s, 60s that are not and probably never will be available in any kind of digital format. Way too much music out there to digitize everything.
As to modern recordings still using analog Analog Productions comes to mind. I see analog tape machines in their studio. Cutting lathes for direct-to-disc recording.
'Not when that is the master. I return to my previous question. Which artists (or labels) still make recordings that are mastered using an analog source?
It is very hard to determine what is the original master? How do we know? How can we confirm this? In most cases we just have to take it on faith.
If you have to surrender your audiophile card for enjoying your garage system then I would have to surrender mine. I spend enough timing enjoying my Quads driven with a lowly NAD 7020 receiver and digital streaming front-end. Certainly not high end but fun none-the-less.
