Well servicing debt makes sense for necessary price hikes, but haven't you just provided another example besides materials and labor costs alone? Thank you. So in the case of ARC at least, consumers are paying not only for higher materials and labor costs but their (poor?) business practices?

Is it not true that the much higher-end products have incredible margins not seen in the entry to mid-level space? Like cars, the higher-end models that are more highly optioned is where the profits are.

And if the audiophile market is shrinking - which many believe to be the case - wouldn't it make sense for manufacturers to try and move up market with higher priced gear? Lower volumes but make up for it with much higher prices and higher profits.

It seems to me they all attempt it. Some are successful, others laughable. Or maybe it's just called Capitalism and that's the game we play. ;-)
