Charles, much of what you say maybe true about the cost of materials and labor but that still begs the question then....
Why have so many of the decades old US based companies jacked prices through the roof to ridiculous figures while others embrace the idea of reasonably priced gear?
I'm thinking American companies like Rogue Audio, Schiit, Odyssey, Magnepan, and others like them.
Is it true that product volumes have gone down at the high end forcing companies to improve margins by jacking prices through the roof, or is this just speculation on my part? It's hard for me to believe that labor and material costs have gone up so much that that alone warrants the huge price hikes.
