RE: voices

that recording has many rewarding characteristics including the much dismissed one of pinpoint imaging. at the time i had that record, i also had Rogers LS3/5As and after listening to the disc a few times, i read the liner notes written by Bob where he describes being not only able to judge depth, but the vertical dimension as well.

the beauty here is that the audience hears pretty much what the conductor does. in addition to being able to pick out which row one of the boys in the choir is in, you can also discern that he is up on a riser, higher than the row in front of him.

that record somehow got out of my hands to an unethical "friend" who wouldn't return it. still, the memory is quite vivid. i also mourn the fact that i had to sell the Rogers in order to progress to the Fried R IIs which was, in fact, a step up.
