I agree, I'd like to see prices go down. Although I haven't heard the Bryston Cubed series of amps, so don't know how they'd comepare in sound, however, take the 4B at $5600 it is still cheaper than amps in that power range from the likes of Pass, Levison, BAT, and the like. Of course, for that money you could buy both a pre & power from Halo. It just depends on where Bryston falls in performance.
Classe has always been nicely built. Like Abe, I like the earlier Classe, the ultra expensive newer stuff had a sound that just didn't appeal to me. I've been told the term is "dry", it sounds like the music is being played in a heavily damped room. That may appeal to others though, it's all subjective.
HT is a very difficult area for higher end companies to keep up with.
