Really, I don't know if one can say if one service, musically, is better than the other.

I've met the CEO of XM and he, like many of us, is a music nut. He'd like nothing more than to bring back the excitement and joy of live performance - something I want more than anything out of my XM service. I remember talking to him about a live Wynton Marsalis set and he was just gushing about the bass sound they were getting out of their studio in Washington. That's what I want out of someone programming radio for me.

Of course, there is the long term and there are questions whether both services will survive. Neither is yet making money. BUT ... looking at the stock action, one would have to think that XM would be the survivor IF one had to fall by the wayside.

I think, and hope, there's room for both ... competition is good. It keeps us honest.
