Part of what's going on: big companies are realizing if they can spin off franchises they can also spin off responsibility and risk. The franchisee takes on the risks of doing business, attempting to turn a profit, and in this case maybe damage claims.UPS probably gets 'stuck' with a yearly frachise fee and a percentage of store profits, no, Mr. Lawyer, have the contract read percentage of gross.
I usually ship Fedex, although I tried to ship something to Canada a few days ago and was told they could ship it but they couldn't accept it??? For a moment I was experiencing deja-vu until I flashed that I wasn't at the DMV, but at Fedex. They further explained/confused me that I had to use the website to ship to Canada...
Did you hear the joke that Fedex and UPS are merging? The new company will be called Fedups.
