It's all about trust at Audiogon, or any other selling/auction web site. He already has nearly $600 of your money in his account. I would email him asking for a phone number, along with the suggestion that he ship the item first and only then will you make up any differences in shipping. And when the item arrives, I'd take it to the same shipping outfit that he used and have them calculate the shipping cost to his zip code. Verification is the only way to know for sure. BTW, anyone in the high-end audio hobby should not be worrying about $20. And I agree with Tyoder, his estimate was off by $40?
