Why do sellers say -

"I am not responsible once the leaves here."

I have seen this on Audiogon, on Ebay, and on the usenet group, rec.audio.marketplace. I do not understand this "opinion".
If it's the buyers responsibility to get the money to seller,
then sure as shit (pardon the vulgarity), then it is the sellers responsibility to get the to the buyer safe and sound. If the shipper kills or destroys the item in looks and/or functionality (which the buyer has paid for), then it is still, in my opinion, the seller's responsibility to get the or its value to the buyer. period.

No IFs, no ANDs, no BUTs. Period. Wxclamation point.

And I speak, as having been, both a buyer and a seller on all the above venues.

(I just posted this as having seen my last "you pay for insurance if you want as it is ONLY my respobsibility to get the on its way to you" post on Ebay. I am sick of that kind of "it ain't my job" attitude. It's a load of horse-hockey-pucks.)

Just venting,

Jeff
