I have a Yamaha HTR 5250 receiver, which is great! I got a great deal for $300!I need a decent set of speakers for this receiver, but I am getting more confused the further I look! I am looking for a "complete" set: 2 front, 2 rear, center and sub. I would be willing, though, to look into mixing.
I have read about the JBL SCS125 and SCS135. The Yamaha CLS-150 and CLS-200. The Harmon Kardon HKTS1. The Energy Take 5. The Infinity HTS-10 and HTS-20.
All seem to have benefits (like the JBLs being under $350), but should I sacrifice a few dollars to get considerably better performance? Or, will I only get better performance by spending $200 extra? Should a subwoofer get all the way down to 20Hz? Does that make a big difference? Most of these don't quite go that far.
On price, I realize that some will cost a little more. I am hoping that I can maybe pick up a set on Ebay or get a good deal on the net to actually bring it under the $500 mark.
ANY help is appreciated!
