I would never do that. It is just downright shabby. Dealer loans are not the custom in these parts. The thing is, if you're not getting service in a store, order from somebody who offers an at-home trial, fork over the shipping charges, and provide your own service under realistic listening conditions. What could be better? Sure it costs a bit, and is rather a problem for speakers. And overall, the mail order prices aren't much different than in a store. But there's a minimizing of the frustration factor. You know, I've never had any really bad or upsetting experiences like some people here have described. But what I mostly encounter is extreme indifference. On the other hand, I have made numerous contacts via this forum and others on the internet, and have never been more satisfied in my dealings and purchases. Just one guy's experience.
