I am not in anyway trying to justify the behavior of your dealer, and he was foolish to behave in a way that would cost him a $4000 sale. On the other hand, human nature being what it is, it is prudent to accomodate it to the extent that you can without surrending your principles. These days a lot of people under 30 ahve big bucks to spend, but there are still a lot of guys with no intension of buying a $4000 amp who would enjoy a taking it out for the weekend. If I were going to try to get a dealer to let me take a piece of merchanise of that magnitude home with me, I would try to enhance my chances of making him believe I was a serious prospect by at least appearing on the scene looking like I had some dough.
