Totally understandable!
My mains can get into the mid 50s. Their acoustic roll off (or short circuit, as they are dipoles), combined with a first order 45hz HP, and they get out of the way pretty fast and let the subs do their thing. Only a few dB of dipole EQ (inside my modded crosover) and the subs go from about the 45/50 down to about 25 hz.
As alluded to, my system isn't about absolute volume- its about extension and cleanliness...
