Wow! I had the same revelation yesterday!

I was visiting Perpetual Technologies' website and had the same thoughts. 16-bits/44kHz...24/96...24/192...SACD...DVD...DSD...redbook CDs upsampled to 24/96...is this done automatically by the player? What all do I need if I buy? Does it really sound better? What does it all mean? I haven't had the thoughts, like you, of turning to analog because of the maintenance involved of the software and more critical care of the gear (isolation of 'table, alignment, etc.).

I'm simply getting disgusted and thinking my current CAL CL-10 20-bit CDP sounds just fine and to hell with it.

Gotta love this nervosa! ;-)
