Home Films/DVD Asylum

Movies from comedy to drama to your favorite Hollyweird Star.

I think you'll enjoy it.

We do streaming services as well, but for some titles, those I'm sure that I'll watch again and/or screen for friends, I usually pop for the BD and ...in rare cases... lower resolution DVD on the rare stuff or higher Rez UHD). Criterion prices are steep, but they do offer periodic 50% off sales through Barnes & Noble and other media vendors.

My wife and I enjoy the convenience of streaming services too, but ultimately I don't fully trust service provider permanence. My biggest concern is that things can happen beyond the consumer's control (rate hikes, streaming issues, bandwidth problems resulting in service slowdowns, business acquisitions can change management policies limiting available access, etc., ...did I mention rate hikes? ).

Having a robust film collection and dependable back up hardware is something in which I have more confidence. Yeah, I know, I'm a bit old school.

Physical media storage can get to be too much, so I've cut way back on purchasing films and series I'm not inclined to watch more than once, but having a dependable library "of the classics" is something I trust & reasonably affordable. That said, you're quite right, streaming is great for most series TV and films, because 90% won't bear repeat viewing.

Sorry, too much caffeine this morning. ;0)
