If your feedback taps are bundled with power lines that could be the source of the problem. The feedback taps need to be twisted and isolated from power wires as best as you can. Run a twisted pair for the feedback taps around the edges of the amp to the front and then down to the PC board connections.You can see it in the picture of the underside of the Stereo 70 I just restored....
