BMG were releasing DVD-As (though not many) prior to the Sony-BMG merger, so it's no surprise that they will continue to release DVD-As as part of DualDiscs.BMG started releasing SACDs just prior to acquisition (RCA Living Stereo series) and still seems to be releasing them well after the acquisition.
Sony Music on the other hand have never released DVD-As, and again no surprise that their DualDiscs lack DVD-A.
What *is* surprising is the lack of SA-CDs from Sony Music, which has been a disappointment to SA-CD fans. Perhaps they will ramp up again, but who knows?
But then equally Warner Music release of DVD-As (DualDisc or otherwise) seems to have slowed down to a trickle. Some of us have been led to believe that Warner had a stack of DVD-As waiting to go and the only reason why Warner was delaying them was waiting for DualDisc spec to be finalised. Well, I'm still waiting to be "flooded" with titles.
For example, where is Joni Mitchell "Blue"? plus a few other DVD-As announced by Warner in 2003 (!) but still have not seen the light of day???
It's perplexing indeed. I want more DVD-As!!! (and SA-CDs!!!)
