Sony & BMG ... Working Together To Kill SACD . LOL . Billboard's #2 , #3 , & #8 albums, on the Top 200 Albums chart...

this week ( Issue Date : July 2 , 2005 ) , are albums available on Sony BMG DualDiscs .

From BMG , Foo Fighters - In Your Honor , released simultaneously on DualDisc with DVD-A , and on CD , makes its debut at #2 . This album gave Foo Fighters their career best sales week .

From BMG , Backstreet Boys - Never Gone , released simultaneously on DualDisc , and on CD , debuts at #3 . This album gave Backstreet Boys their best selling week since the Christmas 2000 season .

From Sony Music , Shakira -Fijacion Oral , Volumen 1 , released simultaneously on DualDisc , and on CD , is in the #8 slot , in its second week of release . This album debuted at #4 , in its first week , when it had the largest U.S. sales week for a Spanish language album ever tracked by SoundScan .

Q : SACD cheerleaders , why didn't Sony BMG release the new hit albums by Foo Fighters , Backstreet Boys , and Shakira , on SACD, and use them to promote the SACD format ?

A : Because SACD is DeadDisc ... very DeadDisc .
