thank you for your kind words -- i'm sorry if i overreacted -- my stress level is at abnormally high levels this weekend, but my response was really unecessary -i'm sure i will figure out what ails my system - that can be part of the fun?
The integrated amplifier i'm using now is going to function as "digital only" soon and i'd like to get decent sound out of that part of it -- on my budget, the dac is going to stay with my best setup and there will be room to experiment there too. I do have a few weeks with the present config. to listen for "break in" on the new parts - just hard to listen when the record player sounds so good. I'm gonna play it a lot without even being in the same room - think some of this compression will go away --
