I agree about the dynamics of NON-OS with passive IV-conversion. See the link.
Sonically the TDA1545 is more like the TDA1541AS1. For my taste too boring, uninvolving. TDA1543 is more lifelike.
The tube outputstage and the PIO caps do make /alter the sound of the Audionote. For better or for worse? I don't know. Never heard the Audionote in my system. Will have the opportunity to audition the Audionote CD-2 in the not too far future. Interestingly it has the CS8414 chip inside, to convert to 18 bits? ;) Not my piece of cake.
