I would say that your impression of the Nova would be similar to mine...I think it would be unfair to compare the 308 to the Nova--based on the fact that the Nova would cost you almost twice as much. Taken on its' own, I am guessing that you would be hard pressed to find anything better in the $1000 to $1500 range, than the 308.
